Realtors® from throughout the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys recently bestowed honors on leaders who over the past year have given unstinting service to their community and their profession, the Southland Regional Association of Realtors® announced.
Top honors went to Steve White, Rodney Gallman and Alana Fugnetti who were selected by their peers as recipients of the Realtor of the Year Award, Association Service Award, and Affiliate of the Year, respectively.
White served as the Association's president in 2006, remains on the Association's Board of Directors, and has been active in local real estate for more than two decades. White also served as a director of the California Association of Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors®.
As President of the Santa Clarita Valley Division he headed a committee that facilitated its merger with San Fernando Valley Realtors®, a move that yielded the creation of the Southland Regional Association of Realtors®. White also has been instrumental in the regionalization and modernization of the Association's Multiple Listing Service, the bible of the real estate industry.
Gallman, recipient of the Association's 2009 Service Award, is a member of the Association's Board of Directors and has served on multiple committees, including Equal Opportunity, Governmental Affairs and Housing.
More than his work on behalf of the profession, Gallman, who holds a Masters Degree from Pepperdine University, is recognized for his warm, engaging personality and tireless commitment to community projects. He owns and operates a sober living home for recovering addicts, is active in his church as a deacon, and is president of a community service organization.
The Association's 2009 Affiliate of the year, Alana Fugnetti, won everyone over with her ready willingness to take on any project, anytime, anywhere plus her ability to serve as the consummate team player. She is vice president of west coast sales for a local sign company that has more than 125 employees.
Fugnetti is the "kind of person you love to work with on a daily basis," said Ben Davis, the Association's 2007 recipient of the Affiliate of the Year honor.
Sally Collom, last year's Service Award recipient, presented the honor to Gallman. Jim Ezell, the 2007 Realtor of the Year, presented the award to White.
