This year's theme is designed to address the evolving needs of the current Real Estate market. The EXPO committee has brain stormed and invited some expert and dynamic personalities to provide you with information that will give you the tools you need to be a "SURVIVOR", learning, growing and thriving in today's market.

Speaking on REO Risk Management is Mr. Steven D. Spile. Steven is currently the senior partner of Spile, Siegal, Leff and Goor, LLP in Encino. Mr. Spile specializes in Real Estate Brokers' Duties and Liabilities, Risk Management, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Expert Negotiations, Residential and Commercial Transactions and Agency Obligations. He uses his extensive litigation, dispute resolution and transactional experience in a wide variety of areas. He was involved in the creation of the California Association of REALTORS^® (CAR) Strategic Defense Panel and is one of a handful of attorneys selected to serve on the Panel. Mr. Spile has been a tireless supporter of CAR and various REALTOR^® Associations through his participation in a variety of committees and the CAR Legal Affairs Forum. He is a board counsel for the Burbank Association of REALTORS^®. He is a certified Department of Real Estate instructor, who wrote and produced a risk- management video for Real Estate professionals. Mr. Spile has had many articles published, including a monthly risk-management column in "Broker^®Agent Magazine." In addition, he assists members of the insurance industry and other businesses in designing and administering risk-management policies, reducing costs and improving efficiency. Toward this end, he has presented seminars for attorneys, insurance representatives and other professionals throughout the country. He is an experienced mediator serving on various court and business association panels. He is the chairperson for the Southland Regional Association of REALTORS^® Mediation Program. He is a member of the bars of the United States District Court for the Central and Eastern Districts of California, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and L.A. County Bar Associations.

For over 22 years Alice Martin has been an active member in various Real Estate Associations. Alice Martin, RCE, CAE, GRI, began with the National Association of REALTORS^® (NAR) as Vice President Association Executives and Leadership Development in February 2008. In her role with NAR, she works with state and local REALTOR^® associations on leadership training, planning and NAR business issues and Real Estate trends updates.

Prior to her role at NAR, Alice was with the Arizona Association of REALTORS^® for 22 years. While she was there she served in a variety of positions, finally as Executive Vice President.

It was a passion for homeownership in communities lush with cultural differences, just like the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas that led her to be an integral partner in the ongoing development of NAR's "At Home with Diversity" and "Home from Work" programs. Staying informed on these topics also requires that she keep on top of what's happening in Real Estate Trends. Her expertise in Real Estate Trends is sure to provide you with relevant and meaningful programs that will help today's REALTOR^® charter a secure course for your Real Estate future.

Michael Chisholm has spent the majority of his professional experience in the mortgage business. He has been a manager, at many levels, for the in-house appraisal staff at World Savings and Loan. Although he is a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser, he has been trained and has extensive experience in other facets of the lending business, including Loan Origination and Underwriting. Michael has been closely involved with the Southern California Real Estate market for the past 20 plus years and has experience in sales management of REO properties for World Savings. He is currently employed by Wachovia Corporation as the Division REO Sales Manager for Southern California, Arizona and Las Vegas. Having experienced three real estate cycles in California he says he looks forward to the ride! HANG ON....
