A Message from a C.A.R. Director

The Realtors® Risk Management and Consumer Protection Forum of CAR is a forum to identify trends and issues that may be, or are, putting Realtors and/or their clients at risk, to educate Realtors^®, and to provide information to other CAR committees as appropriate.

During these sessions, the Regional Representative of each Association of Realtors^® reports on any new and unusual trends and legislation within their marketplace. As an example, in one area outside of Los Angeles the water district will not hook up water service until the new homeowner pays the delinquent seller's bill. The combination of short sales, foreclosures, and local governments and utility companies pursuing new avenues of revenue has created unusual trends.
